Reclaim Your Mis Sold PPI From NatWest

If you have held a loan, credit card or mortgage with Nat West since December 1989, then there is a significant chance that you have been mis-sold PPI. The RBS Group’60sment Protection set aside confirms this.

Established way back in the late ’60s following the merger of National Provincial Bank and Westminster bank, Nat West, grew to become one of the biggest banks in not just Britain, but the world. In 2000, Fred Goodwin and his cohorts at the Royal Bank of Scotland took advantage of failed mergers with Legal and General and Bank of Scotland and bought over the bank for £21 billion. At the time, it was Britain’s biggest merger.

Following a massive reduction in base lending rate since the late 1980s, banks needed to immediately fill this vacuum in their profits, and selling PPI in industrial amounts was just the answer that they needed. We now know that for lump sum personal loan insurance, commissions could be close to a ridiculous 70%. Hard to stomach when you consider it’s typically a maximum 35% for home insurance and 10% for car insurance.

The great British public loved their banks and what’s more, they trusted them. The banks quickly changed from slumbering giants when lending money was as easy as pie and hugely profitable, to giant sales machines, run by accountants and salespeople. Nat West was completely at the forefront of this revolution. Blind target driven selling meant customers were utterly compromised.

The acquisition by RBS and the Fred Goodwin sales machine only saw things deteriorate further. If staff couldn’t sell, they were out the door. These were brutal times. At Beat the Banks, we believe in doing things properly. With hundreds of years of banking, financial services and legal experience we have had more than our fair share of run-ins with the group. We have even managed to persuade RBS that they were breaking both Data Protection and simple banking law with their treatment of second named parties to loan agreements with PPI. Click on this link to our Press Pass section to see how, as a result of our challenge, they agreed to change policy.

Nat West, with their incorrect and arguably illegal Data Protection policy, can be a nightmare when recovering records to allow us to submit PPI claims. Part of their data team, being a legacy from the fated ABN AMRO deal are based in India. Often the information provided is woefully inaccurate. At Beat the Banks, we insist on recovering full lender records every single time. By far and away, Nat West and the RBS Group are the worst in providing any more than the briefest of brief account information. Whilst 99% of other CMCs might be prepared to accept this, we are not.

We know that the most important things about PPI reclaiming is what precisely happened at the time of the original sale and what the customer’s personal circumstances were at that point too. Don’t recover the full lender file and it can mean your claim is complete guesswork. We refuse to gamble with our customers’ complaints.

If you think you have been mis-sold PPI and would like to know more about how we can help you recover the compensation that you are rightfully due, you can fill in our Enquiry Form or if you prefer, call our team on the number most local to you or for free on 0800 193 1234.

£4.90 billion

Part of the massive RBS Group which had already provisioned £4.90 billion, with much more expected, to meet the cost of mis-sold PPI.

Data Protection

Beat the Banks have continually reported RBS, the parent of Nat West, for ongoing breaches of the Data Protection Act 1998. Incredibly in April 2014, they disbanded their Full Subject Access Request team. No other U.K. Bank has taken this arguably, highly illegal step.

Final Countdown

Time is running out to make a claim against Nat West for mis-sold PPI, with the FCA having controversially set a deadline for claiming of 29 August 2019.

  • Mrs C, Glasgow

“From beginning to end, Beat the Banks have been very efficient. I am very pleased with the service from Jenna and the team. I am highly delighted and I have been recommending all of my friends.”

  • Shona, Dundee

“Huge thank you to the team. After attempting to claim PPI myself and getting absolutely nowhere, I got Beat the Banks involved and ended up getting  £12,000. What a result. Beat the Banks made it so easy and were committed right to the end.”

  • Mr A McQuillian

“From previous experience of PPI claim companies, I was a bit dubious if anyone could help me but I thought I would try Beat The Banks. To say I am pleased with the service and conclusion to my claim is an understatement. Beat the banks and my claim handler in particular handled all aspects of the claim from Clydesdale Bank with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency to secure a positive result on my behalf. I would certainly recommend the services of Beat the Banks to anyone who thinks they have PPI claim, especially with the Clydesdale Bank.”

  • Mrs S, Falkirk

“I was apprehensive about using a company to claim my PPI as I had previously responded to a “cold call” and was pestered with calls. I heard about Beat The Banks on a local radio station and because they were based in Scotland I felt comfortable approaching them. I have had a very positive experience with Beat The Banks. They are not pushy and answer any queries timeously. All the Agents I have spoken to were knowledgeable, polite and friendly. After the initial information gathering conversation, they understood my needs and just got on with my claim. No hassle. Even when it was clear that my claim was of a relatively low value they processed without delay. I would definitely recommend using Beat The Banks …. they put all the other companies out there to shame.”

  • T & A, Dundee

“Down entirely to Mike’s hard work, we previously had a successful claim with Clydesdale Bank. Mike was convinced we had more loans with PPI and he was relentless in efforts to recover our paperwork from the bank. Finally, after many attempts, enough records were recovered to submit several claims. We have now received much more compensation, covering loans going back many, many years. If it had not been for Mike and the team at Beat the Banks this would never, ever have happened. Literally, all we did was sign our name and bank the cheque.”
